Our story …

Daffodil and Leek is a luxury slow fashion brand embracing circular fashion through upcycling and celebrating traditional crafts.

With two sides to the business, timeless fashion and handcrafted jewellery both embodying the same joyous and colourful style with a nod to retro nostalgia.

Our garments break away from todays throw away attitude towards clothing. We upcycle vintage textiles, repurpose offcuts and industry wastage and source deadstock or end of roll fabrics and transform them into beautifully crafted pieces designed to fit into and style with your current wardrobe.

Regularly releasing mini drops of one of a kind pieces, including our best selling embroidered shirts made from a patchwork of vintage tablecloths and our jackets made from repurposed curtains. We mainly work on a made to order basis where you can choose a fabric and style from our vintage fabric library or send in your own textiles to be transformed. All bodies are welcome with standard UK sizes available from 4-22 and the option to have garments made to your measurements at no extra charge.

Our jewellery is a love letter to the craft of tatting. A traditional lace making technique which has somewhat fallen out of favour and is at risk of becoming a dying craft. Giving this wonderful technique a contemporary feel and pushing the boundaries of what can be achieved with a humble tatting shuttle.

Inspired by retro patterns and prints from the 50s, 60s and 70s, bold colours and organic floral motifs are available as earrings, necklaces and bracelets. Every piece is made to order using bamboo cotton yarn meaning they are super lightweight and plastic free. All our designs are available in up to 12 colourways on 24kt gold plated or silver plated - so you can create something truly unique to you.

Hey there, i’m Katie…

I’m the freckly faced female founder behind this one woman brand.

I’ve had a passion for making since I was a child, learning sewing and knitting at an early age and continuing this love through school to a university degree in Fashion.

After graduating I spent many years working in London as a pattern cutter and sample maker for small luxury fashion brands.

Always knowing I wanted to have my own brand one day, after moving out of London during the pandemic the timing seemed right and Daffodil and Leek was born the following year.

Welsh born and (currently) Yorkshire based, Daffodil and Leek takes its name from my links to Wales and love and connection to the beautiful Country.

Combining all my loves of vintage fabrics, handcrafted techniques and beautifully made clothing with my passion for sustainability and caring for mother earth.

Every aspect of the brand from designing, pattern cutting, grading, cutting, sewing, tatting, sourcing, packing, posting and socials is all done by me in my little Yorkshire Studio. (With the help of my lovely mum when it comes to sourcing beautiful second hand textiles)

I have so many ideas for this brand and am excited to see where this planet friendly venture takes me.
